Northern Argentina – Tafi de Valle

Three weeks ago northern Argentina was a white stain on the map for us, we did not know that there was even something west of Paraguay in Argentina. Thanks to our friend Maja from Buenos Aires, who recommended us to go there, we have discovered an amazing region and what was really nice about it, we went there with no expectations. Our first stop in this part of the country and our return to nature was Tafi del Valle.

Iguazu Falls – walking on the edge

In the early afternoon, after almost 20 hours on the bus, we finally arrived to Puerto Iguazu, which is the city close to the Iguazu Falls onthe Argentinian side of the border. El Chalten

We traveled north from El Calafate to El Chalten along Routa 40.  There are many hikes around the town.  The first day there we did a hike up a hill just out of town that led to a great view of the town on one side, and the endless Pampas surrounded by mountains on the other.  It was a great place to have lunch.  We found an Empanada shop that was given great reviews by may people in and out of town called Che Empanada.  Their variety was almost endless.

El Calafate and the Perito Moreno Glacier

We moved north from Puerto Natales to El Calafate.  It is a pretty big town for tourists to launch off from.  We spent two nights here and saw the huge Perito Moreno glacier.  The viewpoints in the park got us right up next to the wall of ice. /

Z Puerto Natales udalismy sie na polnoc do El Calafate. To niewielkie miasteczko jest baza wypadowa dla turystow do innych miejsc. Spedzilismy tam dwie noce i zobaczylismy wielki lodowiec: Perito Moreno. Male sciezki spacerowe wybudowane w parku poprowadzily nas niemalze pod sama sciane lodu. Tierra Del Fuego / Ziemia Ognista

Getting onto the Island

After our stay in Punta Arenas we decided to vist the most southern city in the world – Ushuaia. With my swollen knee we couldn´t do much there, so basiclly we went 10 hours there and back through the beautifull and ragged Tierra del Fuego.
